Bleachers held their 7th annual Shadow of the City festival in Asbury Park, NJ, delivering another stunning show with an even stronger lineup. This year I was able to capture performances from Ben Kweller, Dora Jar, Joyce Manor, and Bleachers.
Fans enjoyed more than just the music—one of the highlights was a replica of Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff’s childhood New Jersey bedroom. Festival-goers could explore the exhibit, snap their own photos, or even pose for a picture inside it. Before taking the stage, Jack himself made an appearance at the Charity Dunk Tank, giving fans the chance to dunk him in the water and cool him off ahead of his performance.
For the first time, the festival also announced a West Coast edition, set to take place at Great Park Live in Irvine, California. This marks the first time Shadow of the City will be held outside of Asbury Park. We’re excited to watch this celebration of alternative and indie music continue to grow into something even bigger.
